AKUMU tapped on the door before entering. The supervisor looked her over once before motioning her in. He gestured to the empty chair in front of his desk. She took a seat. The supervisor said nothing. He shuffled the papers on his desk and cleared his throat. AKUMU waited. The supervisor finally spoke. "We have a job for you." He slid the top sheet from his sheaf of papers over the desk. "It's finally happened. What we were afraid of. What we all thought would never happen." AKUMU's eyes narrowed. She silently regarded the photo of the Worm on the sheet before her. She looked away. "They've done it. They've finally breached the First Realm." There was a pause. AKUMU stood. She nodded briefly, and left the office. The door swung shut behind her. The supervisor stood and faced the window. He surveyed the city skyline. The Crisis Labs gateway shimmered in the distance. "And you're the only person who can save us..." he whispered.
